Quando due musicisti conoscono i rispettivi gusti, si stimano ed hanno l’impulso di unire le forze, diventa facile trovare altri compagni di viaggio, altre anime che vibrano a tempo. 

Alex e Gabry sono drogati di musica a 360 gradi, frequentano gli stessi negozi di dischi, gli stessi concerti ed hanno strane idee in testa. Ognuno conosce altri propri simili ed invitano Paolo e Beppe in un quartetto con un substrato comune di ascolti, ardore e voglia di esprimersi in maniera libera e personale.

La creatività che spinge fuori dalla comfort zone è la scintilla che accende la band, una tetrarchia dove le esperienze più diverse confluiscono in un unico pianeta, in un unico cervello…. Brainstar arriva e ti conduce nel suo mondo…che è anche TUO!

 

When two musicians, who really know and respect each other, decide to join forces, it’s easy to find other mates willing to start a new journey.

Alex and Gabry are addicted to music, attending the same gigs, hunting in the same record shops, with weird ideas in their mind. And they both know other similar souls, so Paolo and Beppe are invited to form a four pieces band, ready and willing to give everything they musically got.

Creativity outside comfort zones: this is the spark that lights up this band, a tetrarchy where different experiences and tastes join together in the same dimension, in the same brain…

GABRIELE MARTELLI
 
Chitarrista della prog rock band PropheXy dal 2005, ha collaborato con Roberto “Freak” Antoni nell’ album “Ironico temporaneo vol.2” e nei relativi concerti di presentazione. Nel 2015 dà vita alla band Monkey Diet con I quali pubblica “Inner Gobi” (Black Widow Records, 2017) ed “Ant Death Spiral” (Black Widow Records, 2023). 
Collezionista di dischi, drogato di concerti, decide di dare i natali ad una nuova realtà con musicisti che nutrono lo stesso amore viscerale nei confronti della musica…ed eccolo nei Brainstar!
 
Guitar player in the prog rock act PropheXy since 2005, he worked with Roberto “Freak” Antoni on the “Ironico temporaneo vol.2” album and its live promotional gigs. In 2015 he formed Monkey Diet, a hard/psychedelic band, releasing “Inner Gobi” (Black Widow Records, 2017) and “Ant Death Spiral” (Black Widow Records, 2023). 
Record collector, live shows addicted, he decides to put on a band together with musicians who share the same deep passion for music…so now you can find him with Brainstar!
 

ALESSANDRO TOZZI

Batterista della funk band Replay e del cantautore Bolognese Davide Lucchini, entrambe realtà attive con le quali ha pubblicato diversi album. In passato nei Red Confusion (presenti nel box Centofiori Compilation del 1989 col brano “Garage Key “), successivamente dietro i tamburi dei Nadoieda che pubblicano nel 1995 “atto primo e secondo “. Dal 2002 per oltre dieci anni si dedica alla musica di Frank Zappa, uno dei suoi amori principali, con la band Grand Wazoo, arrivando a partecipare allo Zappanale Festival, uno dei culmini dell’intensa attività live. Grande appassionato di musica da sempre trova nei Brainstar la perfetta incarnazione della sua visione artistica.

Drummer in the funk band Replay, and alongside the singer songwriter Davide Lucchini. He recorded a bunch of album with both acts, which are still alive and kickin’.
Former drummer in Red Confusion (their “Garage Key” song is in the famous local “Centofiori 1989” compilation), then with Nadoieda, releasing “atto primo e secondo” in 1995. He has been for ten years, since 2002, a member of Grand Wazoo, a tribute to one his all time favorite artists, Frank Zappa, hitting the Zappanale Festival’s stage. Deeply invested in music, he finds with Brainstar the perfect drive for his artistical vision.
 

PAOLO PARMEGGIANI

Bassista dei Red Confusion a cavallo degli anni 80/90, da oltre vent’anni si dedica al soul con gli Anderlao. A questa band tutt’ora in essere affianca una duratura collaborazione con il cantautore Davide Lucchini sia in studio sia in sede live. Ma la voglia di buttarsi nei più diversi contesti e di fare musica originale al di fuori del proprio background vissuto lo porta a mettere le sue note basse al servizio di Brainstar!

Former bass player in Red Confusion between 80’s and 90’s, he has been playing Soul Music with Andrelao in the last twenty years.
Meanwhile he helps the singer songwriter Davide Lucchini playing and recording his songs.
Because of his curiosity he’s always busy playing new music in different territories without a net…and that’s what brought his bass tones on Brainstar.
 

GIUSEPPE LENTINI

Tastierista in varie band indipendenti degli anni 2000, tra cui i Cubo Medusa, decide di dedicarsi ad autoproduzioni sperimentali elettroniche con il nome di Atomic Wheelchair, pubblicando album dal 2008.  Amante della musica al di la del genere da un lato e della tecnologia che supporta i sintetizzatori dall’altro, sente un impulso mai spento di suonare con un gruppo musicale che condivide la scelta di oltrepassare canoni e barriere…i Brainstar sono l’appagamento di questo impulso.
 
Keyboard player in indipendent acts through the years (Cubo Medusa and many others), he released some self-published electronic albums under the name of Atomic Wheelchair.
For him music is a world totally free from labels, with interests in technology and synths. He’s following his desire of playing in a band with other souls that share the same will to cross borders and push music forward…Brainstar are both a goal and a new beginning.
